Observatoire du Morne des Cadets

The Observatoire volcanologique et sismologique de la Martinique (OVSM-IPGP) is a research observatory operated by the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris that monitors volcanic and seismic activity in Martinique and the Lesser Antilles. The observatory tracks Montagne Pelée volcano's activity, records local and regional earthquakes, measures ground deformation, and monitors lahars and thermal springs. It provides early warnings to authorities and contributes to tsunami alerts for the Caribbean region.
