UMET is a joint research unit of Université de Lille and CNRS that conducts materials science research across diverse applications, from fundamental process understanding to direct industrial implementation. The laboratory operates multiple research teams focused on polymer systems, molecular and therapeutic materials, physical metallurgy, planetary materials, recycling processes, and interface phenomena, supported by specialized facilities including electron microscopy and high-pressure equipment. UMET also provides graduate training and scientific outreach programs.
